Sami culture and a meeting with King Neptun’s musicians

An amazing dissemination of Sami culture in combination with beautiful music in extraordinary surroundings – can you get a better experience?

On the guided bus tour between Kvalsaukan and Melbu, you will experience a unique alpine landscape, surrounded by fjords and straits.

Sami people is arctic aborigines. Reindeer had an important place in their traditional way of living. Despite massive pressure from the outside, many Sami people have kept much of their original culture.

We will visit Inga Sami Siida, and be served a genuine a vivid introduction into Sami traditions, crafts and art of use in combination with stories about the Sami way of living. Close contact with reindeer, and the possibility to feed these animals is included in the program.

After saying goodbye to both man and animals, we will travel to Melbu and the Norwegian Fishing Industry museum. Here, we find Royal Neptun Hall, an old tank originally used to store meal from herring. Today, the tank is transformed into a unique concert hall. The reverberation in this tank can last up to 23 seconds. This is challenging even for our gifted musicians. Prepare for a remarkable concert included music related to the Sami culture!

After two unique experiences, we will return to the respective hotels.

{Laila Inga has an amazing way of describing the Sami culture, and both food and drinks are served in the lavvo.
